Brother James Bryan

James Bryan (1863-1941) conducted large evangelistic and prayer gatherings in Birmingham and across the region but is most loved and remembered for his tireless work to help the homeless in Birmingham, often giving the coat off his back to someone in need. His habit of calling everyone brother or sister got him the name Brother Bryan. Shortly before his death in 1941, the Brother Bryan Mission was formed to continue his work.
